Can I claim for orthotic devices or repairs via Extras cover?
Eligibility
To claim, you need to:
- be on Top Extras with any applicable waiting period served
- submit a completed Aids and Appliances form (signed by your health practitioner*)
Products
You may be able to claim towards the purchase, or repair, of orthotics that are:
- custom-made
- moulded or heat-moulded pre-made.
You can’t claim towards products that are:
- off-the-shelf
- purchased in a retail store.
Claiming
Orthotics has an annual limit (maximum amount you can claim). You can check your remaining limits via our member app or Online Member Services.
When submitting your claim, please include an itemised tax invoice that shows the name of the patient (i.e. the person who uses the orthotics).
*e.g. podiatrist, chiropractor, osteopath, physiotherapist, orthotist or registered pedorthist
