Tamieka Botfield from Melville High School has received the Nurses and Midwives Health Scholarship (NSW) at the recent Public Education Foundation’s (PEF) Proudly Public! awards ceremony in Sydney.
A confirmation of purpose

The scholarship provides financial support to public high school students in NSW who intend to complete a nursing or midwifery course after finishing year 12.
For Tamieka, this means is more than just financial assistance. It’s a powerful affirmation of her chosen path. “This scholarship represents much more than financial support—it’s a validation of my passion and drive to really make a difference in the lives of women and their wellbeing choices,” she explained.
“This opportunity will define my professional career path in ways I could never have imagined.”
