Access Gap Cover
What is Access Gap Cover?
Access Gap Cover (AGC) is a billing scheme that aims to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket expenses to members for medical services received in hospital. Doctors may choose to participate in AGC on a patient-by-patient basis, so you should discuss with your doctor.
Why won't my doctor or specialist participate in Access Gap Cover?
It is up to your doctor or specialist to decide whether to charge you under the AGC scheme. Even if the doctor has participated in this scheme before it does not automatically guarantee that the doctor will participate in AGC for your treatment. Doctors and specialists are free to choose whether they will participate on a patient-by-patient basis. This decision remains solely with the doctor or specialist.
You can search for doctors who have previously participated in Access Gap using the free tool available here.
