Group Chief Executive Officer – Teachers Health Group (incorporating Nurses & Midwives Health)
Brad joined Teachers Health as Chief Executive Officer in May 2006. Under his leadership Teachers Health has grown to be the largest industry-based not for profit health insurer in Australia. He has extensive leadership, executive management, strategic and commercial expertise, gained from more than 20 years as CEO in the health insurance and health care industries as well as senior management experience across a number of industry sectors through his career.
Brad also plays a leading role in shaping the future of the private health insurance sector through his work as:
- Chair of Members Health Fund Alliance – an industry association that is active in the health insurance industry, shaping government policy and reform.
- a Director of HAMB Systems Ltd – an IT solutions provider to the health insurance industry.
- a Director of the Australian Health Service Alliance Ltd – a hospital and medical contracting company in the health insurance industry.
- a member of the International Federation of Health Plans’ Council of Management – the leading global executive network within the international health insurance industry.
Brad is a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of CPA Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Major) degree from the University of Newcastle.
Chief Executive Officer of Nurses & Midwives Health
Joseph is responsible for managing the subsidiary business of Teachers Health Group including Nurses & Midwives Health, Teachers Health Centres, Teachers Healthcare Services and Teachers Health Foundation.
Joseph was previously the Chief Financial Officer. He has over 10 years' experience in the health insurance industry, working in a range of statistical, financial and business analysis roles.

As Chief Operating Officer, David is responsible for Membership Services and Health Insurance functions.
David joined in 2012 bringing with him over 20 years’ experience in various senior management positions in New Zealand, Australia and the UK.
Previously, David was the Company Secretary for the ASX listed company Hills Holdings Limited, Company Secretary for NIB Holdings Limited and Board Secretary and Legal Counsel for the New Zealand Apple and Pear Marketing Board.

As Chief Financial Officer, Jane leads the finance, treasury, actuarial, analytics, benefits assurance, portfolio & project management functions.
Jane joined in 2019. She has over 20 years’ experience in finance, commercial and governance roles spanning professional and financial services, health insurance, health care and technology.
Jane was CFO and Company Secretary of ASX-listed dental business Pacific Smiles Group, and was instrumental in its successful IPO in 2014. She previously held senior finance roles with NIB, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Credit Suisse (London). Jane has also held external board positions within the finance and health sectors.
Chief Information Officer – Teachers Health Group (incorporating Nurses & Midwives Health)
As Chief Information Officer, Anthony is responsible for delivering the strategy, security and management of technology services across the organisation.
Overseeing the Information Services department, Anthony and his team work as internal business consultants to support the entire business. He oversees projects aimed at improving our infrastructure, software, customer resource management and system support.
With more than 20 years’ experience working in private health insurance, Anthony has extensive experience ranging from start-up to large corporate insurers. Anthony actively involves himself in industry-wide developments and participates frequently in industry forums.
Chief Risk and Compliance Officer – Teachers Health Group (incorporating Nurses & Midwives Health)
Greg joined in 2017, and is responsible for overseeing the ongoing development of an effective approach to managing risk, driven through our people, that creates value for the organisation and our members, and is supported by a strong risk culture.
Prior to moving into private health insurance, Greg has had an extensive career in the general insurance industry, working for several large and well respected local and multinational general insurers.
Chief People Officer – Teachers Health Group (incorporating Nurses & Midwives Health)
Joining in 2021 as Chief People Officer, Bernadette is responsible for every aspect of the employee lifecycle, including all areas of work, health, and safety.
Bernadette oversees a group of people and learning business partners, learning and development specialists, and analysts in the area of people and culture for the group.
With over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources, Bernadette has extensive experience in the financial services industry and banking, as well as the FMCG industry and international logistics, both in Australia and overseas.
Bernadette is passionate about member-based organisations and ensuring employees are well-equipped, developed and engaged to support the requirements of our members.
Chief Marketing Officer – Teachers Health Group (incorporating Nurses & Midwives Health)
With over 30 years’ experience in marketing and management, Wendy joined in 2013, before becoming Chief Marketing Officer in 2017.
Wendy oversees a team of marketers, digital experts, product and member experience analysts, communications specialists, and engagement and business development officers.
Wendy’s career was predominantly in financial services, specifically the not-for-profit sector, which aligns to her values and commitment to delivering value to members. Wendy has held senior leadership roles in Queensland Police Credit Union, BCU and was the Head of Marketing & Retail at My Credit Union prior to joining.
General Counsel – Teachers Health Group (incorporating Nurses & Midwives Health)
Penny was appointed General Counsel in 2012, following more than 30 years’ experience in general commercial law, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Penny acts as an internal consultant, providing advice on commercial and legal issues to support decision making. She was also involved in the establishment of the Teachers Health Foundation.
Before joining, Penny worked at Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills) in Sydney and Lovells (now Hogan Lovells International LLP) in London. As well as extensive legal experience in private practice, Penny has worked in corporate advisory firms and was General Counsel of an ASX-listed health IT company.
